Justine Ben-Yosef

Justine Ben-Yosef is the Co-founder and Director of the Giraffe Centre and the Lead Therapist at the Giraffe Centre.

She is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and also the director of Speech Therapy Services London Ltd. Justine and her team have been providing high quality support to children in schools for 7 years.

Justine​ has 12 years of experience working with children with a variety of speech, language and communication needs from the ages of 3 to 19 years of age. When working with children, Justine prioritises functional communication and reducing the impact of the speech language and communication needs.  Justine strives to ensure that all the children that she works with are equipped with the skills to communicate effectively in everyday life.

Justine is passionate about the SCERTS approach when working with Autistic children. She ensures that her input is child driven, purposeful and makes a meaningful difference.

Justine has formal training in SCERTS, TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, the ComFor, LAMP and the DIR Floortime Approach.

Victoria Cheroomi

Victoria is the co-founder and director of The Giraffe Centre and is extremely passionate about helping families with children with additional needs

Victoria has lots of experience of speech and language therapy and occupational therapy as her son has accessed these therapies throughout his childhood and recognises the importance of early support for all children who need it . This inspired her to create The Giraffe Centre with Justine.

Trained in the SCERTS Model, Victoria holds the SCERTS principles at the forefront of her approach with autistic children at The Giraffe Centre.

As the manager of The Giraffe Centre, Victoria also provides assistance to the therapists and also runs parent groups for the parents of the children who attend The Giraffe Centre.

Bethan Williams

Bethan is a primary school teacher for 13 years and a qualified SENCO for 6 years.

Bethan Williams

Bethan Williams has been a primary school teacher for 13 years and a qualified SENCO for 6 years. She has completed numerous EHCP applications over the years to both Essex County Council and Havering Council. Bethan has worked very closely with a wide range of professionals in both health and education and has also supported parents through the application process.

As a parent, the EHCP process can be very daunting. Bethan will be able to guide you through the process of completing the application from start to finish. She will also support you in writing your application, going through each section step by step. Bethan will also advise you on which professionals you need to gather evidence from to support your application.

Naimah Mohchin

Naimah completed her undergraduate degree in speech and language therapy at City University of London. She works with primary and secondary age children with a range of speech, language and communication needs including autism, developmental language disorders, language delay and articulation disorders/speech sound difficulties.

Naimah is an enthusiastic therapist and is committed to providing the best possible therapy that is both engaging, fun and functional.
She believes in evidence base practice, client centred approach which aims to empower individuals and their families.

Naimah is passionate about the SCERTS approach and holds this at the forefront of her approach when working with autistic children the Giraffe Cente. Naimah uses fun and accessible approaches to intervention in order to maximise functional communication.
Naimah has formal training in SCERTS, Trauma Informed Schools
UK and Early Interventions.

Georgette Barling

Georgette is a passionate, driven and engaging therapist who applies evidence-based practise.

Georgette Barling

Georgette is a Paediatric Speech Pathologist who recently moved to London from Sydney, Australia. Georgette has previously worked in preschool, school and clinical settings working with children from 1-18 years of age. She has worked with children presenting with a range of communication needs including Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Intellectual Disabilities as well as Language and Speech Disorders. 

Georgette values the importance of developing rapport with her clients as she believes that a positive relationship is the foundation of effective intervention. She follows a child centred approach in her sessions and aims for her intervention to be fun, innovative and motivating. Georgette also strives to involve and support families throughout intervention to best support their child’s progress.

Georgette is a passionate, driven and engaging therapist who applies evidence-based practice in order to provide the best possible service.  

Georgette studied at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology). She has training in the Lidcombe Program, HANEN and Sensory Processing with Inside Out.

Leila Afshar

Leila is a Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, and mother of two, who is passionate about her work with children and their families, and who thrives in creating a fun and accessible therapy experience in order to maximise language and communication learning and development.

Leila completed her Post Graduate Diploma BSc Honours in Speech and Language Therapy in 2007 and has over 12 years experience working with children with a range of communication disorders and delays. She has worked in a range of settings including Mainstream and Special Needs schools, from Early years up to Secondary.

Leila has extensive training including SCERTS, Makaton, PECS, TEACCH, Early intervention, Language for Thinking and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She is dedicated to the use of effective evidence based assessment, therapy techniques and resources.

Leila is an energetic, creative and approachable team member, with a passion for functional and client centred therapy and intervention. Leila has supervised SaLT students, assistants and other SLTs, as well as provided training to schools and parents.
